With the aim of speeding up the proposed bilateral free trade agreement (FTA), commencing September 13, India and the European Union will be holding the next round of Trade Secretary-level talks in Brussels.

The Commerce Secretary, Dr Rahul Khullar, will lead the Indian delegation in the four-day meeting. The broad-based bilateral trade and investment pact will cover goods, services as well as investment.

Although both countries have reached an understanding on several contentious issues like intellectual property, they are still bargaining hard on matters like market access for key industrial products like automobiles, textiles and liquor.
